A first look at ForStream
The approach behind one-upload delivery, local recording, and resilient streaming.
ForStream is ForShow’s integrated streaming service, being built to carry a production from the same workspace that creates it.
One program, one upload
Compose the stream as an output of the show. The aim is to send one encoded program from the venue and let the cloud deliver it to multiple destinations, rather than asking the venue connection to upload a copy for every platform.
Built for interruptions
The ForShow client cuts the stream into short segments and keeps a local spool. It can retry segments when connectivity returns. A cloud buffer is intended to give a temporary outage room to recover before it reaches viewers. Local recording can continue alongside streaming.
We will publish supported destinations, buffering limits, service availability, and tested recovery behavior as ForStream approaches release.
Production stays in ForShow
Slides, motion design, media, NDI sources, output-specific pictures, an audio mixer, and recording are part of the same production flow. The operator can see the stream target and its status beside the program instead of treating streaming as a separate world.
ForStream requires an active cloud service, compatible destinations, a suitable network, and an appropriate subscription or plan. Pricing and service terms are coming soon.
