First steps / GUIDE 01

Start with the whole show

A first look at how ForShow brings content, a live program, and your workspace together.

ForShow is coming soon

ForShow begins with three ideas: what you are preparing, what is live, and what you need in front of you. Keeping those separate is what makes it comfortable to work during an event.

Your content

Libraries hold presentations. A presentation holds slides. A playlist puts presentations into the order of a service, conference, show, or class and can include section dividers so the team can see the shape of the day.

The Slide Grid is the operator’s main view of those cues. Clicking a card takes it to the program; selecting a slide in the editor or Slide List lets you work on it without changing what the audience sees.

Your program

The Viewport shows the picture that is being sent to an output. The main slide layer can sit over a persistent background video, still image, or camera feed. A stage display can show a different layout for performers and speakers.

Your desk

Presentation, Edit, and Scripts are starting layouts. You can move, dock, float, duplicate, or pop out panels and save more named layouts for your own roles. Switching layouts keeps the live cue in place.

A useful first run

  1. Create a library and a presentation.
  2. Add slides in the editor, or paste lyrics into Reflow.
  3. Put that presentation in a playlist.
  4. Open the Slide Grid and Viewport, then take a cue.
  5. Build a workspace your operator can read at a glance.
